Wait a minute!! All FOUR of us can collab!!
That would be SOOOO fun! Tell me your user on my profile.
Yea when FIANALLY my Library Media teacher teacher lets us download it and make an account so my PARENTS can let me have an account in my iPad. If i do something wrong on my chromebook(My school one) it get IMMEDIATELY taken away. Or atleast get a flag which if i get too much mine gets taken away and i have to use TEXTBOOKS!! So yeah. My parents might not let me make an account tho. It’s still fine if that happens tho.
So I have a question Suki, if i make a Scratch account do you or your parents get any email about it? Just wondering
Yes. You get an email saying stuff like “We’re so glad you joined Scratch!” and things like that.
I will play soon!
Ok. Cool. Im probably getting an school account for it this year on my school chromebook and my parents let me download any school based app on my iPad which means i can get another account we so can collab!!
-Wondering
Awesome!
I never used Scratch cuz my school FORCED me and my friends to get Scratch JR instead of Scratch. But now i know there’s a site, I don’t have to!
Hi!!
Okay, thx! Here’s a story. At school, we do scratch. TEACHER: Class, make a character and make them walk to the door. CLASS: WE CANT DO IT ME: I made it walk to the door, say goodye then open the door, then show outsite, then- TEACHER: Umm…. I think that’s enough for today Hannah (Not my real name but.) Also, DorkyKawaiiPuppy is me!
Yeah thats what I meant. Autocorrection corrected the spelling I meant, but obviously it didn’t correct my incorrect spelling. So ething was meant to be something
EDIT: Collar should be collab and ething should be something.
OMG Suki, I didn’t know you used scratch too. I have used it for about 6 years!!! In a month, I’m getting an account!!! I’d love to collar with you or so ething if that’s okay with you!!
collab*
I use Scratch to! I’ve only used it for about 4 or 5 years. Definitely the easiest thing to use to start programming! I’ve made several games and other things with it!
Oh really? Cool!
I haven’t made an account yet, but I’m totally gonna ask my parents this evening
also, I finally learnt animation with coding!
Amazing! I’ve not started making complex animations yet. Maybe we could do a collab? I could use some help with animation. I’ll post it on my site when we finish if you agree.
Same. I’ve only learnt to animate with coding, not mastered animatinf
they said no 😛🙃😶😐😑😒🙄😞😕
Awww man. Too bad.
However, I won’t give up too soon!
By the way, can I just share with you my way of animating on scratch? I don’t know if it is even the standard way to animate on scratch, but it’s a LOT better than before when I used to consider ‘Gliding across the screen for ___ seconds’ as animating.
•Firstly, you’ve got to draw the costumes/frames/images, or upload your own image. Name the first costume however you want.
• DO the right click on there, and you’ll see a ‘Duplicate’ option. Press that, -By the way, make sure you are on vector for the animating, and you can use either vector or bitmap for the drawing + colouring- and then you’ll see a copy of the costume you have done. You can tilt it a little, or make a slight change, only a little because you don’t want big gaps in your animating. Then duplicate it again, and make a slight change to it. You should have at least 50+ frames to get less than a few seconds long animation.
Now on the coding. I think that’s the simple part.
• Go to events, and use the when green flag clicked block (or any other block you usually use)
•go to motion, and use the ‘Go to X:__ Go to Y:__ and set them to zero so it looks like this : Go to X: 0 Go to Y: 0.
• Go to looks, and use the ‘Set size to 100%’ thing.
• Go to looks, and use the ‘Switch costume to ____’ and set it to the first costume you did 😀
• Go to the control thing, and use ‘Wait ___ seconds’, and set it to however seconds you want, I guess.
• Use the ‘repeat until ______’, but go to operators, and use the __ = 50, drag that to the space on the ‘Repeat until…’ go to looks, and use the ‘costume number’ option (it should be at the end of the looks section), and drag that to the first space in the ‘___ = 50′ thing, and also! Remove the ’50’ thing, and replace it with the last numbered costume you did. Or, don’t set it at all if you want it to go forever :D. Then in between the ‘Repeat until…’ option, go to looks, and drag ‘next costume’ in their.
Done! Obviously I think there is some more to animating on Scratch, but just look up tutorials (like I did). I was really suprised at how smooth the one I did was, especially seeing as it was made on Scratch, NOT FlipaClip.
Wow, thanks for the tutorial Candi! I might try something.
wait! nvm, the code is actually WAY simpller, i didn’t realise a LOT of things were unnecessary
Yeah! The three of us!
Ahem, four of us?
We can totally collab! Just let me know your user when you get an account.
