In this part, you will learn the secrets about magic, the crystals, and Clara’s past/future.
“Wait!” Clara yelled, running up to Jack. He grunted. “Will you answer my question?”
“Of course,” replied Jack. “But it depends on what the question is.”
“If Queen Miranda never existed, then who ruled before you took the Pink Crystal?”
“I’m not going to tell you all my little secrets, Clara.” And with that, he ran into the woods. Here’s where it gets interesting.
Clara searched her pocket and found a tube of lipstick. She applied one layer as she walked into town.
“My, my, what have we got here?” Samantha said, following Clara. “A fashion obsessed warrior?”
“No,” Clara said. “Sam, take me to suite 31 in the Luxury Stay Hotel. Now!”
“Wait a second… Has Jack…?”
“Yes. We’ll have to stop him. Now that he rules the town, we could be…” She stopped and glanced up at the palace. “We could be in great danger. Please, let’s go.”
About an hour later, all the way across town, they arrived.
“Clara!” said the receptionist. “Doing well?”
“Julia, it’s an emergency. Take me to Suite 31. Please! Hurry!” Clara said.
“Yes, of course.” Julia took Clara up the elevator. “Here,” said Julia, at last.
Clara walked out of the elevator and into the hallway. She took out her lipstick tube and removed the lid. She inserted the lid into the keyhole and the door opened. Clara shut it behind her. She took off her black coat and walked toward the window. Sam walked in behind her.
What’s going on right now? Well, suite 31 is special. It’s been designed to keep evil magic away. It’s the only place where Clara could be safe from Jack. And hidden behind the fourth shoebox in the closet… was a crystal. The Blue Crystal.
“That crystal is useless against Jack’s crystals,” said Sam.
“It’s useful in battle,” said Clara. She attached it to her bracelet–the bracelet she had gotten as a child–and passed out.
In moments, she was standing on the beach. A lady walked up to her.
“My sweet Clara!” she said. “Time for your Spanish lesson.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Clara looked down. She was a child. Her brown hair was in two magnificent braids.
When she walked into the cabin, she sat down next to the lady.
“Clara,” she said. “You will be the greatest of warriors. I have to tell you something before I start teaching you your Spanish–that you are special. Unlike anyone in the world. I first found you in a gold cradle, in the middle of the forest. You had magic inside of you. I could feel it. When you were a baby, I wanted to enhance the magic. So I fed you magic leaves from my forest.
“It worked. Clara, you always ask me about my crystals. You don’t need the crystals for power. You already have the power. Use it wisely, my dear. When you turn eighteen, I will be no more. That’s the spell I put on you. I knew–you were the one. No other keeper or fairy has ever had the power you have. You will achieve immortality, even without the Blue Crystal. That’s what happens to all the fairies, even me. Until, of course, you decide to pass your power to someone else.”
“But…” Clara sighed. “Miss Valerie, I know nothing about the powers I have. I’m only six. There’s twelve whole years until I turn eighteen! Why are you telling me this now?”
“Don’t worry!” Valerie smiled. “You will learn a lot as you grow up. I just thought it would be helpful for you to know what your future would be like. Alright. Now for your lesson.”
“CLARA!” Sam yelled. “CLARA! WAKE UP!”
Clara got up. She was resting on the bed. “Uh… Sam?” she moaned.
“Clara, you passed out for like, ten minutes. Are you okay?”
“I… had a dream. It reminded me of a time when I was little. There was a lady… who said I was… um, magical?”
When Clara said magical, blue mist swirled around her. And the Blue Crystal’s color darkened. It was no longer the Blue Crystal. In fact, it was never the Blue Crystal.
“This could only mean one thing,” said Clara. “Or two. First, we know now that the Blue Crystal was really the legendary Black Crystal in disguise. But the crystal only appeared to be blue. This was an illusion. It has to be made by the owner of the Violet Crystal. So, either the suite isn’t keeping Jack’s evil magic away, or… Jack is using his crystals for good.”
“Jack and good in the same sentence?” asked Sam. “That’s seriously strange.”
I know, I know, I didn’t mention the Black Crystal earlier. I didn’t think I had to! But the time has come. I don’t have a choice. The Black Crystal can control all the other crystals. It can never fall in the wrong hands. Using it is risky. It can make you sacrifice yourself. The only way of using it carefully… is immortality.
Niceeeeee!!!!!!!
